WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF

About the Author

G’day! I’m A.J. Craven, a neurodivergent children’s author and educator from the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.Writing has been a huge part of my life ever since I was young. I’ve always loved bringing worlds to life where anything felt possible and every new idea could become an adventure. My imagination has never been very good at sitting still, so creative writing quickly became the perfect outlet for it.As a primary school educator, I’ve spent over a decade teaching in classrooms across the globe. Over the years, I began sharing my stories with my students, and before long, it became obvious they were exactly who I wanted to write for.Kids see things in ways most adults don’t. There’s a sense of wonder in the way they think that many people lose as they get older. They ask questions you’d never expect, react in ways that completely catch you off guard, and can turn the tiniest idea into something huge. The more time I spent around that kind of curiosity and energy, the more certain I became that writing for children was what I was meant to do.Now I get to create the kinds of books I would’ve loved getting lost in as a kid. The ones that grab hold of your attention straight away and make the real world disappear for a while. The kind you keep thinking about long after you’ve closed the cover. Spending so many years around kids and the way they throw themselves completely into every thought and question has shaped the way I write. And it’s safe to say, my imagination is still running far too fast to slow down anytime soon.
